1st April 2022

It’s April, which means we can finally start to enjoy the Spring sunshine, and we are celebrating the new Gucci 2022 eyewear campaign for this season. While the catwalk shows, masterminded by Alessandro Michelle have been pure glitz and glam, via the Hollywood Love Parade collection, the exclusive eyewear campaign adds a hint of rock and rock to the story.

For Spring/Summer 2022, Gucci is all about on tour decadence. Featuring brand ambassadors actress Ni Ni and musician Lou Doillon, and photographed by Thurstan Redding, it’s visually stunning and sets the scene for adventurous fashion fans.

As the Gucci label explains, in its own words, just what the collection is about:

“Within the mysterious and colour-rich setting, each protagonist possesses an attitude of quiet confidence and individuality. Surrounded by instruments, Ni Ni wears a selection of oversized frames, each enriched with distinctive elements such as Interlocking G details and gold chains. A retro feel permeates the cat-eye or round frames that Lou Doillon wears. Captured during golden hour when the rays of the sun shift into the glow of city lights, the campaign becomes a bold portrait of the artists, and the creative freedom that emerges when it’s just them and the music.”

So how does it work in real life? That’s what our clients ask us about. Catwalk shows are amazing to watch – we feature some of the ones we love here on our Blankstone Blog. They provide colour and inspiration and theatre. You can take elements and work them into your own style.

We love how Gucci has recently styled actress Sienna Miller, for Muse Magazine. Whether in a pastel pink slip dress, or floral maxi dress, these are looks we can relate to.

And so to the eyewear. Now we hopefully have a season of events to plan for, it’s the perfect time to up our glasses game. Our new-in Gucci collection reflects all of the glamour of the ‘on the road’ campaign, presenting luxuriously detailed pieces which means you can make your eyewear an important part of your overall look.

The Blankstone Gucci 1088S

Is it possible to improve on a classic aviator? Well, this model takes inspiration from all of the standard aviator features, but it gives them a Love Parade glow up. That gilt logo and matching glasses chain elevates these sunglasses to next-level fabulous.

The Blankstone Gucci  1076S

These beauties take the cat’s eye shape, make it contemporary, and bigs it up. Gucci are renowned for doing oversized, and these are classic enough to take you into many seasons to come.

The Blankstone Gucci 4240

These optical glasses take elements of the Love Parade theme, with the curved ombre arms, and double G logo. Unusual, unique, and a talking point for any wear. If you like to wear your glasses for every occasion, these are glam enough to take you everywhere.

April has to be one of our favourite months in store. We are getting ready to celebrate our own 30th Birthday in May, and Gucci has been such an important part of our journey here at Blankstone. It absolutely went interstellar as a brand in the nineties, and has continued to produce covetable collections ever since.

These pieces are real investment buys – you can update them, and if you wear prescription lenses, we work with you to make sure your eye health is as on point as your personal style. And when it comes to UVA and UVB protection, that’s an investment that really counts. Handmade eyewear is not only more intricate, it is also more durable. So that’s the sensible part, ticked.

Then let the fun begin. And you know, sometimes feathers can be an option: Dakota Johnson at the Oscars Vanity Fair party looks dramatic, ostentatious and just gorgeous.

We might not all be able to rock a look like this in real life, but our new Gucci incoming drop is definitely not for the faint-hearted. But if you are daring enough, you can definitely be in our band.

We’ll see you at the back of the van. Or should that be, our luxurious Blankstone tour bus?
