New Culture & Commerce Board for Liverpool BID welcomes our Mark Blankstone to its board

Mark Blankstone

Here at Team Blankstone, we are typing this while our Mr. B. is out of the office, because we want to wish him huge congratulations for the announcement of his freshly-framed role on the newly announced Culture and Commerce Board BID Operating Board, which includes a mixture of independent and major businesses operating in the city, alongside public sector organisations from arts, culture, tourism, hospitality, commercial and professional services.

The BID is a private, not-for-profit organisation representing the interests of over a 1000 businesses in the city, providing an impartial, hugely vital voice.

The Culture and Commerce BID Area’s new board has an impressive range of  representatives, and we are super-proud that Mark is going to be involved in an organisation which really does promote so many of the city’s noted names, including independent enterprises like Blankstone Opticians.

We feel it is so fitting that Mark is taking on this role, as we head towards the end of 2021. Next year, Blankstone Opticians celebrates thirty years as an independent optician in the city centre. Mark wanted to launch a business in 1992 that would be a part of Liverpool’s continuing regeneration, which he has been proud to be a part of ever since, as the city’s reputation as both a tourism and retail centre continues to thrive.

It also means that Mark has experienced the challenges of being an independent retailer during more difficult times, whether it be due to economic downturns or, more recently, as a result of the pandemic. He absolutely understands the issues that retailers face in order to thrive commercially, whilst building something of value to add to Liverpool’s status.

Blankstone Opticians has built a reputation as a fashion-forward, stylish store, packed with exclusive brands, which also prides itself in providing first-class eye healthcare using state-of-the-art technology. As part of the team, Mark makes us feel like family, and we hope we expand that welcome to everyone who walks through our doors. We certainly hope it is one of the reasons we will be celebrating another milestone business birthday next year.

With this new role Mark, we know, will be a trusted voice to represent other businesses, who he is proud to have forged great working relationships over the years, to ensure that their experiences, hopes, plans and thoughts are all recognised. He is also looking forward to working with outstanding colleagues within the local business sector who are also joining this high profile board.

We want to wish Mark the best of luck, from everyone here at Team Blanktone.

Perhaps we don’t tell him often enough, but today we can. Well done, we are so proud of you, our Mr. B!
