SUMMER EVENTS 2014

Eyeing our summer events – a sense of perspective by Mark Blankstone founder and owner of Blankstone Opticians.

It’s an exceptionally busy time for Blankstone Opticians as we begin treading the boards from our Liverpool Opticians’ base at all the big events around the North West this summer *fixesRaybans in place*

Don’t worry, we don’t expect any sympathy because as the sunshine takes hold, we’ll be mixing it with the best of @cheshirelife at for example, @ChesterRaces for the Polo this coming weekend 23/24 May. It will be a chance for @ChesResident to buy the latest in all those desirable designer specs and sunglasses they saw at the #BAFTAS2014 at the weekend!

On a much more sombre note, we’ll also be at Vision 4 Children’s event this Thursday May 22 held at www.host.co.uk

Socially, we’ll be enjoying ourselves but with a real sense of perspective.

Based at Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool, www.vision4children.org.uk performs remarkable work in treating children with blindness and visual impairment.

Amidst all the canapés, small talk and business talk, we’ll be hearing about how 50% of all childhood blindness and visual impairment is treatable and therefore unnecessary.

There are currently 25,000 blind and visually impaired children in the UK according to Action for Blind People and 85% of children with visual impairment struggle to find employment according to the Royal National Institute for the Blind.

Research from the same organisation has shown that visually impaired children also tend to have on average, 5-6 less friends.

It’s very difficult to be select charities to support but it’s also a very straight forward decision for us as Liverpool Opticians to help www.vision4children.org.uk

Take a look why and look forward to seeing you over the summer whether it’s for an eye test, eye health products or a brand new pair of designer frames…you know you’re worth it!
